Noise Ordinance Aims to Curb Industrial Sound Near Cedar Bayou
Cedar Bayou residents facing 24 hour pipe yard noise may see a new city ordinance. If approved, the measure would set decibel limits and measurement methods within 5 000 feet of the corporate limits, exempt garbage truck noise, and take effect after 10 days. City Manager Bob Leiper notes enforcement by misdemeanor tickets. A future work session will pursue a tree preservation ordinance to curb unnecessary felling while balancing development.
