A Baytown City Councilman spent Tuesday night in jail and was moved to Harris County custody Wednesday on an assault charge for allegedly striking his ex wife at a local Little League park. The report notes the arrest followed a Tuesday incident and directs readers to see RENTERIA on page 7.
After a seven year break Epicurean Evening A Taste of the Baytown Area resumes 6 to 9 pm at the Royal Purple Raceway Tower Club hosted by the Baytown Chamber of Commerce. The fundraiser aims to raise at least 30 000 for Partners in Education scholarships and local marketing. Tickets are 35 dollars at the door. Gary Englert chairs the event with about 25 restaurants expected to participate including Jason's Deli and Tamale Ranch.
Dayton area friends organize a fundraiser for Haylie Nicole Martin, a 15-year-old Woodrow Wilson Junior School student who survived a May gunshot wound to the head and has returned home after months of hospitalization. The event seeks support to help her family create a safer, better home environment as she continues recovery. Medical teams initially feared for her life, but Haylie has defied expectations and is now home, with her mother noting the shooter’s bullet entered through the frontal lobe and traveled internally.
Barbers Hill ISD moved to add two 313 value limitation agreements for natural gas fractionators by Oneok Hydrocarbon and Lone Star NGL Asset Holdings II, now awaiting state approval within 90 days. Oneok's project is valued at 480 million with 400 construction jobs and 10 permanent posts. Lone Star's at 333.4 million with 800 construction jobs and 10 ongoing roles.
