City discusses crime and housing issues on Ward Road
Police Chief Keith Dougherty outlined two initiatives to curb loitering and tenant troubles in Ward Road district. The city will urge property owners to post signs and file complaints to deter trespassers and will use leases to hold tenants accountable, while targeting problem tenants in apartments following hurricane-driven turnover. The department will also deploy new traffic speed monitoring to study speeding patterns and support traffic calming funded by red light camera revenue.
