Sterling High School will host the Sterling Rangers JV game originally slated for 6 30 p m now at 5 p m. The Lee baseball booster club meets Monday at 6 30 p m at Double Dave s Pizza. All parents of prospective Gander players urged to attend.

Lee senior running back Steven Banuelos known for zigzagging through defenses and a biker hat seeks to spark a win tonight as Channelview visits Lee’s Stallworth Stadium in a crucial 21-5A matchup. Banuelos, 5- foot-5, 170 pounds, has 43 carries for 214 yards and shares backfield duties with Paul Martinez, who is sidelined by turf toe.
Banuelos moved from offensive tackle at Horace Mann to running back for Lee Ganders. He says learning plays is challenging but improving as Lee ranks third in 21-5A rushing at 166 yards per game while Ganders are sixth in passing at 81 yards. A year ago he starred for the junior varsity as Lee, 1-4 overall, 0-2 in district, prepares for a 7 p.m. Stallworth Stadium kickoff amid Ike-related disruption.
Baytown Lee graduate Jeremy Moses threw 37 of 59 for 416 yards and four TDs as Stephen F. Austin State beat Nicholls State 50-39. Moses tied the school record for pass attempts, did not commit a turnover, and connected with Dominiq Edison, Contrevi Marks, and Marcus Taylor on scoring plays to lift SFA to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Southland Conference.
