Larry Dean Fulton, 49, is charged with two counts of theft of livestock, a third degree felony. Investigators, aided by Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association special ranger Jimmy Belt, traced cattle allegedly stolen from Wade Brown to Fulton, who sold 10 head in his name without owner Gary Angel’s consent. A separate incident involved cattle escaping onto property where Fulton worked as a ranch hand, with a sale ticket later showing two animals sold at Raywood Auction Barn. Each count carries 2 to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 fine. The investigation continues with more possible charges and victims.
The Baytown area faces a heated immigration issue as candidates discuss reform. With early voting nearing for the November 7 midterms, Hilda Martinez weighs in, while congress advances border control measures including a 700 mile wall proposal funded at 1.2 billion dollars and estimated to cost 8 billion dollars. The Baytown area churches launch the sixth annual Coat Drive from October 25 to November 15 collecting coats sweaters jackets and other warm items for locals in need. Organizer Tommy Meekins notes warmth is needed despite the Gulf Coast climate. Clothing distribution occurs November 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist at 621 W. Plumwood resident Laura Wamble warned the drainage ditch through her subdivision is often overgrown with grass and debris and may be filling with silt. She reports near cresting banks on Monday and has repeatedly urged Harris County Flood Control District officials to address the issue since May, highlighting risks to elderly residents and possible snakes or rodents. District 6 Councilman Sammy Mahan and Precinct 2 Commissioner Sylvia Garcia’s office have been contacted as frustration grows over district response.
