Severe thunderstorms and torrential rains battered Southeast Texas injuring nine in a family SUV crash along Interstate 10 and killing two women in a Houston flood vehicle. Two more deaths were reported in Brazoria County as crews battled high water. In Hitchcock a tornado tore roofs off mobile homes while other areas reported widespread flooding, power outages, and rescues as bands of storms moved through the region.
