Goose Creek CISD Forms Facility Planning Committee Meeting
The Facilities Planning Committee for Goose Creek CISD will meet at 6 30 p m Monday at the administration building 4544 Interstate 10 East to begin compiling facility assessments. Tours of facilities are planned 9 a m to noon October 27. The committee includes 80 volunteers and taxpayers identified by trustees the superintendent and administrators to recommend prioritized capital projects for growth and replacement over five to ten years.

Benefit raises $17,000 for Hawley at ranch sorting
The Carolyn Hawley Ranch Sorting Benefit at Cherry Creek Arena in Mont Belvieu raised just under $17,000 to cover Carolyn Hawley’s medical costs. Hawley, a longtime figure in regional horse events and a volunteer with the East Texas Team Penning Association, aids beginners and youths. Winners included Frank Johnson and Cody Allred in Open Class, Allred and Greg McGowen in Class 5, Ben McGowen and Dean Allred in Youth Class, Lisa Paxton and Robin Mitchell Forrest in Class 3, and Brian Bolding.
