Chambers Conservation District Cuts Taxes for 1969
Anahuac residents will face about 12.5 percent net tax savings in 1969 after the Trinity Bay Conservation District adopts a new valuation and tax rate plan. The district sets the 1969 levy at 41 cents, down from 50 cents, while assessment rises from 15 to 20 percent of market value. This shift raises revenue to cover maintenance costs and bond obligations, with bond funds needing lower levies than in 1968.
