Baytown Lands Semipro Basketball Team
Baytown resident James Moore moves from coaching his kids Amateur Athletic Union team to owning the first professional basketball club in Baytown. ABA CEO Joseph Newman praised Moore’s coaching style and Baytown Bandits start the inaugural season November 1 at Goose Creek Memorial High School against the Houston Assault. The Bandits will play 20 ABA games televised on ESPN3 this season.

Go Pink and More for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, events promote early detection, research and survivor stories. In Anahuac attendees can join Get Pink'd Out at The Wellness Center for lunch, a balloon release and bra decorating contest benefiting Chambers County Relay for Life with tours and screenings. An annual 5K Run Walk and Kid Dash are planned for Oct 11 at Mont Belvieu City Park to raise funds for The Vera Bradley Foundation and The Rose.
