Aggie aims to fund scholarship via Century Tree seedlings
Vernon Texas native Andy Duffie, a 1978 Texas A&M graduate, cultivates 500 seedlings from the Century Tree to fund a President's Endowed Scholarship. He harvested 3,000 acorns in October 2010, plans fall 2012 sales when seedlings reach 6 to 7 feet, with 120 trees reserved already. Each tree costs 250 dollars, two for 400, and will be delivered to College Station for distribution.
