Service League Charity Ball set Saturday in 46th annual event

Through the Looking Glass is the theme for the Service League of Baytown's 46th Annual Charity Ball. Baytown's Academy Sports Outdoors Opens at 8 A.M.

Baytown welcomes Academy Sports Outdoors with an 8 a.m. opening at 6425 Garth Road. About 125 employees and a mix of full and part time staff prepare for customers as 50 children from YMCA programs receive gift certificates and shop under staff supervision. Natalie Colquitt, with 15 years at Academy, leads the Baytown store joining more than 130 locations.

Anahuac Pays Late Water Bill After Dispute With TBCD

Anahuac city council clashed with Trinity Bay Conservation District over drought plagued water issues since 2010. TBCD gave ten days to pay a $230000 overdue bill. the city paid the bill plus $27000 last week, amid ongoing tensions between officials.
