Benefit fundraiser raises about $2,000 for leukemia baby
Stevie Wayne Matthews Jr. an 18 month old diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia received multiple chemotherapy and spinal treatments. A Monday fundraiser at the Anahuac Courthouse aided by Chambers County Sheriff’s Office raised about $2,000 for medical costs. The GoFundMe page has gathered nearly $19,000 with Cryer Pools contributing $3,855. Stevie remains in ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital awaiting transfer to the pediatric oncology floor in six to eight weeks.
