Car Skids Into Truck Near La Porte
W. T. Blomburg a 27 year old employee of Brown and Root is in critical condition at Pasadena Medical Center after his car skidded on wet pavement on Highway 146 near La Porte Tuesday afternoon. He suffered a fractured skull and head lacerations with possible internal injuries. The crash occurred when Blomburg braked to avoid a panel delivery truck driven by Tommy Bilotta a 25 year old salesman for Montgomery Food Distributing Co of Galveston who was turning into Convenient Grocery two miles south of La Porte. Blomburg at 65 to 70 mph spun and struck the truck’s rear wheels then bounced onto the highway. Blomburg was thrown from the car and landed headfirst on the pavement. He was taken to the hospital by an Art Simpson ambulance.
