Public hearing on eight liners in Harris County
Harris County will hear public comments at 5 30 p m Monday at the Crosby Community Center on proposed county rules governing game rooms. Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Morman said the hearing should be informative and well attended. The rules require owner and operator disclosure and visible machines, prohibit locked doors, and aim to regulate compliant venues while shutting down noncompliant ones. Exemptions apply to game rooms inside food and beverage businesses. New rooms cannot be within 1500 feet of schools, places of worship, or residential areas unless food sales exceed 50 percent.

Roseland Park Nineteenth Century Locomotive Restored
Roseland Park completes restoration of Southern Pacific Locomotive No. 895 after five weeks and a $45,000 refurbish by Valu Industrial Services. The 100 year old train, once a steam engine, now features a four coat polyurethane finish and new nose details, with an expected 10 year protection. The locomotive has graced Roseland Park since 1957 after donation by Southern Pacific following a 1956 request by Baytown Key Club.
