Hunting season boosts Texas angling and birding across bays
The article reports a mild fall in Texas bringing good hunting and fishing. In Matagorda Bay, anglers catch redfish and speckled trout using soft plastics and live bait while shrimp pods are less reliable. Galveston Bay shows strong trout limits with guides noting shallow-water schools and outgoing tides. Other bays like San Antonio Bay host trout, redfish, and black drum with live shrimp under popping corks. Weather remains warm with low winds, hinting at continued productive days for hunters and anglers ahead of deer and duck seasons.
