Baytown town hall praises Waterpark and recycling pilots
Baytown residents packed a District 3 meeting led by Council Member Brandon Capetillo at Baytown Junior School. Attendees urged faster repairs to Ike-damaged homes, supported Pirates Bay Waterpark for May school groups, and discussed a pilot of larger recycling bins and once weekly garbage collection across three neighborhoods. The city plans weekday waterpark access for schools in the last two weeks of May and will offer discounted tickets or full-park rental. Plans to condemn damaged homes are resuming after a state ruling, with some sites tied to federal grants and ongoing litigation.
