Bayshore Rod Reel and Gun Club starts its deer hide collection to aid handicapped children through adult volunteers Eddie Huron Robert Read and F R Lloyd organize the drive. Hunters are asked to deliver fresh or salted hides to Baytown addresses to fund programs. last year the effort raised over 300 dollars.

The Labor Department reports total employment rose nearly 700000 to 82.7 million, seasonally adjusted up 260000 for October. Average weekly pay rose to 9.63 over the year, unemployment dipped about 200000 to 4.5 million, and teen joblessness fell to 15.3 percent. Unemployment held at 5 percent for whites and 10.1 percent for non whites, with men at 3.9 percent and women at 5.3 percent.
