Pink fire trucks roll into town for Pink Heals Tour
Five individuals and three Baytown senior living facilities will receive home visits from bright pink fire trucks as the Pink Heals Tour arrives at San Jacinto Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to raise cancer awareness and funds. Lois Manier, 71, a breast cancer survivor since 1990, awaits the trucks on Ashwood Drive as firefighters plan personal visits.

Torrential rains test Baytown area with limited flooding
Severe Thursday storms brought heavy rainfall from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Baytown region, triggering 15 traffic accidents with three injuries. Public crews placed high water signs, some road closures only on ramps, and nearby Chambers County saw flooded streets but no major water problems. Flood monitors logged about 5 inches across Baytown and Goose Creek, Cedar Bayou, and the San Jacinto River ran high but stayed within banks. Goose Creek CISD buses ran late and Thursday night activities were canceled.
