Deadline looms for protest of 2004 property values
Harris County property owners must file protests by June 3 due to Memorial Day. Protests must be in writing, identify the property and owner, and indicate the issue. Submit at the appraisal district office or by mail, or use the iFile online system with the unique number. Hearings begin May 24 and run through summer.

Exxon Mobil plants win NPRA safety awards in Austin
The NPRA honored Exxon Mobil Baytown Refinery Baytown Chemical Plant and Mont Belvieu Plastics Plant at the Austin ceremony April 29 2003 awards cited TRIR reductions 39 percent and 15 or less targets with no fatality for 2003. Refinery earned meritorious safety performance and safety achievement while Baytown Chemical and Mont Belvieu Plastics received Gold and another safety achievement for two years without a days-away-from-work case.
