Four Groups Collaborate on Baytown Summer Program
The Baytown Housing Authority partners with Baytown School District Harris County Community Action Association and Baytown YMCA to run a summer activities program at Carver Jones. The district provides Lee Drive facilities including two classrooms a pool gymnasium and playground at no cost. MCA will staff supervise and train lifeguards while BHA encourages low income residents to participate. programs target ages 10 to 21 with some activities also open to parents.

New Picnic Site At LBJ Park Opens Sunday
A gleaming new visitor center and picnic sites at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park near the Pedernales River will open to the public Sunday morning. No formal ceremonies expected. The center includes a restored log cabin and a National Park Service display. Plans call for a competition pool, a wading pool, game pavilion, concession building, nature trail, auditorium and amphitheater.
