Welfare Pays Man Fees For Golfing Case Hits City

NEW YORK AP A welfare recipient received city funds for golf permits and greens fees to aid a “special therapeutic experience” a bid to buy a race horse with welfare money was denied. Bronx DA said seven charges accuse him of cashing welfare checks and replacements after claiming losses. MIAMI AP A judge overturned an $85,000 verdict for a former Iowa state senator who said an accident prevented kissing his wife. A new trial was ordered after a judge found the award excessive.
