Four months after a Baytown Refinery spill coated Archia Courts with a sticky film, Exxon Mobil discussed purchasing the 29 duplex neighborhood. The company first floated the greenbelt plan in 2001, offered $2.1 million after an appraisal in 2003, and meetings in 2005 showed many residents willing to move though the plan stalled due to Gulf Coast hurricane evacuees.

Ken so Baytown native Bobby Digler, a 1982 Robert E. Lee High School graduate and Galena Park teacher, serves as a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant in Iraq. He has shot video for the Armed Forces Network and Pentagon Channel, and his footage reaches History Channel, CNN, and Fox. Digler arrived in August 2005, has faced firefights with Marines and special units, and notes both danger and hope as civilians express gratitude for their freedom.
