Baytown Y offers model class for summer teens
The Baytown YMCA teen summer program lists a model construction and operation class led by Roy Holzheuser. Students will build working models of planes ships rockets and old sailing ships with early and modern types. Plans include electric motor powered planes and rockets, with projects graded on neatness and detail. The course runs June 11 from 11 am to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with fees of 32 for members and 35 for nonmembers.

UT Austin to award 3000 degrees at 1960 commencement
The University of Texas at Austin plans to award about 3000 degrees at its 56th annual commencement. Gov John B Connally will give the main commencement address at 8 pm on the terrace south of the Main Building with a rain plan for Municipal Auditorium. Vice Admiral Alexander Weyward Jr will deliver the ROTC address at 9 am in Hogg Auditorium. The Rev John W Deschner of SMU will give the bacalaureate sermon. Nursing school will participate in commencement for the first time, with degree conferrals at a 4 pm convocation at the Alumni Center.

Dr. R D Wesselhoft co authors a U S patent disclosing a new process for preparing isoprene used to make polyisoprene synthetic natural rubber. Co authors include W R Edwards now with Esso International in Coral Gables and Dr B B Williams of Esso Production Research Co in Houston.
