Flag from Battleship Texas flies again for D‑Day
The 70th anniversary of D‑Day sees the flag aloft on the USS Texas mast displayed at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Crewman donor and museum officials note the ship’s role in 1944 and 1945. The flag, 17 by 9 feet, signaled allied presence as 156000 troops prepared to cross the Channel.
