Mont Belvieu seeks new post facility and ZIP 77580 status
Mont Belvieu officials unanimously urge the Postmaster General to create a dedicated ZIP code 77580 and expand the local post facility to serve West Chambers County. The move would assign Mont Belvieu as the mailing place and avoid Baytown or Dayton addresses, with the Barbers Hill School District likely donating land to help expansion. The plan covers about 3,500 homes and involves Rep. Brian Babin’s office, but a denial would block new requests for 10 years.
