Local Baytown Triathlete Overcomes Odds in Race Journey
McCune, a New Anthem Church co pastor and master electrician, describes racing as self expression after a tough upbringing. He helped his friend Chris Arthey, who lost both legs in a motorcycle crash, and now races in the 40-44 division using triathlon as stress relief and personal growth while seeking faster times. He credits mentor Glenn Hartrick, related by marriage, for guidance as he aims to improve and compete at higher levels.
