Daring Fliers Rescue Woman From Niagara Falls

A distraught 25 year old woman, Mrs Jeanette Bugay, stranded on a rock 200 yards above Niagara Falls, was rescued with the aid of helicopters. Pilot freed her with a rope as a wave hit the craft, another helicopter from Bell Aircraft helped complete the rescue. She was taken to Mount St Marys hospital in fair condition. Two Bell pilots suffered minor injuries. Police said she had been missing since Sunday afternoon and had spent the night on the rock above Horseshoe Falls.

Veteran Ferry Pilot Stricken At Morgans Point Crossing

A 61 year old ferry pilot F W sim Long collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage while piloting the CD Massey across the Houston Ship Channel toward Baytown. He felt faint on the southbound leg to La Porte and was assisted by engineer Henry Dudley before the vessel slipped to the Baytown side. Long was rushed to Baytown Hospital where attendants described his condition as critical.
