Western Blockade Delays Soviet Fuel Pipeline Network
Moscow reports the Western blockade of the Big Inch pipeline delays Russia's fuel network by at least two years. Despite progress in gas and oil transport from distant deserts to Moscow and Leningrad, the Friendship pipeline faces slow progress due to a 40-inch pipe shortage and a German refusal of 650000 tons of pipe.
