Segregation shifts as Negroes move to suburbs says Hauser
Prof Philip Hauser, chair of the U S Census, told an international mayors conference that the Negro is moving outward with better jobs and education, yet remaining segregated as a group. He warned the 1960s will test democratic tolerance as enclaves resist integration and other groups seek housing. By 1970 he projected 15 million Negroes in a 214 million population.
