J K Mumford of the Dallas FBI ordered a full scale probe to determine if James Hollis Jones aided by confederates extorted $200,000 from twenty prominent Dallas Jews. Jones, 48, was captured after fleeing along a railroad embankment near Garland while demanding the money under threat of death. He fired once as agents closed in and was restrained before a second shot. Arraignment was expected at 1 p.m. Tuesday. his wife was not arrested.
