State highway department initiates Chambers County roadwork project
The Texas Department of Transportation will repave nearly 50 miles in Chambers and Liberty counties to smooth and secure travel. Work begins May 12 with barricades, May 19 with a 1.5 foot concrete and asphalt mix, covering seven segments including FM 563 FM 562 and FM 2354 at a total of about 5.44 million dollars. Seven segments span about 17.5 miles on FM 563, 5.5 miles on FM 2354 and 8.2 miles on FM 562, with one lane closed per segment and flagger traffic control. The nine month project ends around early 2009.
