Sterling Library unveils redesigned interior and self guided spaces
City Librarian Katherine Skinner Brown led Sterling Municipal Library’s early 2005 plan to improve patron access. In April the first phase of the floor plan redesign was completed, moving fiction, non fiction, Spanish and biography sections for easier browsing. Staff educated patrons during the process and report a positive reception after completion.

Baytown Public Library's Rich History and Growth
The first Texas county library opened in 1925 via donations from Ross Sterling, then Humble Oil president, in a Goose Creek Library that served until 1963. Sterling Municipal Library began in 1963, honoring Sterling. Bond programs in 1975 and 1995 expanded the library to 50,500 square feet and improved access, including moving the large print collection to the reading room front for shorter patron walks.

Yellow billed cuckoo spotted at Baytown Nature Center
