Voters may still register for the May 4 municipal and school district elections with the deadline in April. Harris and Chambers county tax assessor offices handle registrations, with forms available at many government offices and by mail. Early in-person voting runs April 17 to 30 on weekdays in Baytown Anahuac Mont Belvieu and surrounding districts, with mail ballot requests due April 26 and ballots due May 4. State law requires registration or address changes be on file 30 days before the election, so runoffs cannot accept new registrations, but other elections accept through April 4.

Lee College ends presidential interview round in Baytown
The Lee College regents say the search committee has finished interviews for the college presidency after six of seven candidates were interviewed. Dr. Weldon L. Law withdrew. final recommendation will be prepared next week with no decision date set. Remaining candidates include Box Calaway Ellis Hodges Liddell and Shirley.
