A court session will be held in Spain at the Com nilie house with a Troop opening and a Toscanin performance planned by P. Read at a Minerva Study meeting hosted by Mrs. Guy Hensiey on Friday at 10 am. Mrs. Roy Company presiding. News from Baytown reports the death of Mrs. John Pollock in London on March 10 after a hearth condition. the Pollocks lived in Baytown for 15 years while he worked as a medical parson at Baytown's Standard Oil refinery. Navy news notes Moran, son of Mr. and Mrs. Moran of Tay East Ete, in the eighth week of training at Gaeas Lakes Naval Training Center. Moran, a former Todd Ships worker, is expected to be home on leave around April 3.
The Carpenters Local offers free transportation to polls for residents without transport. Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for the city measure on federally supported public housing. Secretary Reet Grossan said the local office can be reached by phone and volunteers will be on call during voting hours.

The 1955 Oscars honored newcomer Ernest Borgnine for Marty as best actor, with The Rose Tattoo's Anna Magnani winning best actress. Jo Van Fleet won supporting actress for East of Eden and Jack Lemmon for Mister Roberts in an all newcomer year, as over 2,000 Hollywood celebrities attended. Marty, produced on a budget of 800,000 dollars, beat larger productions Picnic and Mister Roberts among the Academy’s 1700 members.
Susi Fenley, 17, of Baytown, chosen by Robert E. Lee High School speech teachers to compete in the statewide oratorical contest sponsored by Knights of Pythias of Texas. She will write and deliver a speech on "Phraats To Freedom And How 'Cy Meet Them," with state finals in Dallas in June and a chance to go to New Orleans for the national event.
Baytown area schools plan a weekend retreat at Camp Allen to focus on values and modern life. The event, led by Dr. W. W. McParland and Southwestern University president Dr. W. Fineh, gathers about 15 communities and features teachers and clergy from local schools.

In Waco Texas, McKinney veterans hospital doctors described A B Shoemake as a human vegetable. District Attorney Toni Moore said Shoemake will likely be unable to answer questions about U S S Trust and Guaranty manipulations for months or ever. Shoemake, who led an insurance banking firm before its collapse, fired a bullet through his brain on January 7. Moore noted she has been checking his condition to decide when they might question him.
East Harris County residents contributed nearly $19 000 to fight infantile paralysis in the 3a of Dimes campaign. Final figures show a 44 percent rise from last year with the Telethon event in March and the Mothers March totaling about $10,600. Committees across East Harris agrade thanks to Baytown Lions and Jaycettes for substantial help.
Bert Greaham business agent for the Carpenters Union Local warned Easytonians that self-appointed repair workers claim union ties. He urged caution noting the men have no known connections or recommendation from the union and used a vacant Bayetown address.
Larry A. Hale was elected president of the Baytown Rotary Club to succeed Hugh M. Stewart with the first meeting in July. Three new directors were chosen: W. J. Bray, Dr. Don Brunsas, and Vernon Wright, joining holdovers Knax Beavers, Dr. Werbert H. Duke, and P. Walter Henckell. Retiring board members are Jack Jacobs, Garret Harring, and Mr. Wimlet T. Davis. Hale joined HL and Power Co. in 1988, is a Franklin LA native, a 1932 Alabama BS in electrical engineering, and now HL and FCO commercial representative in Baytown. He and his wife have two children, Gere Deane, 16, and Bodnite, and live at 2704 Virginia.
Baytown area seeks foster homes for an 11 year old girl and a teenage boy. Eddie Barrett, probation officer, cannot place them yet and asks interested families to contact Garrett at 3129 or write Box 6213 Baytown Texas. The children are not for adoption and may need short or long term foster care.
Severe hail and tornadoes swept Central Texas and the lower Rio Grande Valley last night. Crops including cantaloupes and cotton suffered heavy damage. windows and buildings were destroyed, with up to five inches of rain and winds up to 73 mph. Farmers reported near total crop loss, while public buildings and homes faced widespread damage. Weather fronts and lingering clouds followed the storm as officials tracked the events.
A B-25 bomber crashed about 50 miles southwest of Waco. All six crew members were killed. The crew included pilot instructor 1st Lt. K. R. Woodman of Biddeford Maine and 1st Lt. Zed C. Gibson Jr of Koshkonong Missouri. The aircraft departed from Waco and was on a routine night mission. Wreckage was located near U.S. 79 north of Franklin in Robertson County by highway patrol officers. The other crew were 1st Lt. Peter A. M. Hisky of Posoillo Idaho, 2nd Lt. E. G. Smith Jr. of Macon Georgia, Thomas E. Andres of Estes Park Colorado, and Frederick J. Buresch Jr. of Baltimore Maryland. The search began after no contact with the aircraft after 12:05 p.m. Wednesday. Waco Air Force Base and Connally AFB confirmed sighting of the wreckage and fuel endurance.
