In Minneapolis Minnesota Sen Estes Kefauver scored a decisive upset over Adlai E Stevenson in the Democratic presidential primary. With 2 720 of 3 806 precincts counted Kefauver led Stevenson 204 045 to 157 782. Officials noted potential cross voting from Republicans. Open House Planned For 10 000th Phone

The Baytown exchange of General Telephone Company of the Southwest will celebrate the installation of the 10 000th telephone in the Baytown system with an all day open house Friday. Best time for visits is 4 to 5 p.m. when guided tours of the plant will be offered and company officials will explain equipment functions. A “hear and see your own voice” exhibit and other displays will be featured as part of the event.
