Baytown Attorney to Testify for Texas Telephone Bill

Baytown City Attorney George Chandler and Houston utilities director Clinton Owsley were invited by State Rep. Dan Strube to testify in favor of House Bill No. 1 creating a telephone division within the Railroad Commission. Chandler may attend or send a statement.

A Baytown five year old was bitten by a rusty colored dog in his yard. The Sun located the dog owner, leading to vaccination and the dog’s observation. The boy received a tetanus shot and avoids rabies shots after owner contacted paper and vet.

Post Office Addition Part Of Rites In Baytown

Formal planning began Monday on dedication services for the new Baytown Post Office wing and Thomas Circle with a special steering committee. Cedar Bayou Junior High Student Hurt In Motorcycle Crash

Cedar Bayou Junior High student Robert W. Hucheler Jr., 15, sustained multiple abrasions when his motorcycle went out of control in the 1800 block of East James Street Saturday at 1 p.m. He is in Gulf Coast Hospital with stitches on both elbows and other scrapes. The incident left his glasses in a spectator’s possession.

Baytown Boy Lands Key Role in Road Show

Jerry Strickler son of Mr and Mrs W J Strickler of 910 W Lee bit signed a six month contract with Marge and Gower Champ to perform in the road show Bye Bye Birdie He is a junior at the American Theatre Wing New York dramatic school and was one of six chosen from over 200 for parts in the musical He will sing in the chorus and may serve as understudy for the juvenile lead He currently stars in Shakespeare's As You Like It at the drama school before joining the road show in March with dates opening in San Pedro and Dallas with stops at the Texas State Fair Strickler a graduate of Roe and Southwestern University has worked at the Atley Theater and in Pleyhonns productions.
