Three Dallas men testified they were beaten and tortured by Dallas and Beaumont police until signing confessions for bank burglary and other crimes. Body of Houston Fireman Found In River Jungle
The unclothed body of 38 year old Houston fireman Johney Lee Kelley was found along the San Jachito River near Humble. His body was bound with a long chain and showed signs of murder. Kelley had been missing ten days, and his father discovered the body as officers and volunteers searched the area with a mounted posse. A station operator reported selling gasoline to Kelley and another man the night of his disappearance.

Car Crash Delivers Injuries in La Porte Triangle
D. Tamsey a 20 year old resident of Liberty was hospitalized Friday after a La Porte mobile collision at Main Street and La Porte Road. Police say Ramsey’s car failed to turn at the triangle, struck a telephone pole, and ripped up a fire hydrant. Five others, including Ramsey, were transported to San Jacinto by ambulance for observation and treatment.
