Wall Street ended mixed as JPMorgan Chase accepted a government backed purchase of Bear Stearns. The Dow rose about 21 points after an initial 200 point drop while the S P 500 slipped 0.90 percent to 1276.60 and the Nasdaq fell 1.60 percent to 2177.01 amid shifts away from investment banks and small caps. The Russell 2000 declined 1.87 percent to 650.48.

Baytown Crack House Busted By S W A T Team
Baytown police arrested Daniel Hinojosa and Jessica Quezada after a narcotics investigation led to a search warrant at 1712 Utah Street. Officers seized $1895, with Hinojosa facing two counts of felony delivery and Quezada one count. Hinojosa posted one $15,000 bond. another no bond. Quezada bonded at $15,000.
