The Texas Senate notes the end of the war between the states and adopts a proposed constitutional amendment to allow the state to spend money to attract tourists.
Assistant Police Chief Herbert Freeman and Patrolman John Meadows traveled to Woodville to recover a car stolen from C. B. Kirkland of Baytown and to interview the 17 year old driver. Kirkland reported the theft at 11 p.m. Monday after returning from a show. Baytown alerted Cleveland officers who said the same car was stopped there for leaving a service station without paying for gasoline. Freeman noted poor radio reception hindered details of the Woodville arrest or car recovery.
Baytown junior high parents are invited to a 10 am Thursday meeting in the school auditorium to plan the spring festival. Tickets go on sale for a Friday Lakewood Clubhouse games party for Lakewood Civic members only at 25 cents admission.

A Finnish tanker Aruba carrying jet fuel rebelled against delivering cargo to Red China. Crew demanded halt at Colombo, Ceylon, and asked for union support.
