Streets No Racetrack Says Chief Warns of 30 Mile Limit
Police Chief W R Montgomery announced Missouri street is not a speedway with a 30 mile per hour limit enforced along the entire route. Speed limit signs were installed Tuesday and patrols will enforce the limit. New traffic controls include a five way stop at Louisiana, Missouri, and Huggins and additional stops on Missouri and Louisiana and on Huggins. Traffic safety advocates are urged to stop before entering Missouri. Montgomery and City Manager C C Middleton surveyed the street and found traffic warranted the regulations. One way streets entering Minnesota will reverse flow to expedite traffic from Missouri onto Oklahoma to Minnesota. Beginning next Monday main traffic on Oklahoma from Wisconsin to Minnesota will move north. the Colorado northbound block will be reversed to southbound.
