Shamrock Texas prepares for annual St Patrick parade and contests
Shamrock Texas gears up for the St Patrick Day celebration drawing about 10 times its 3500 population. The Luck of the Irish theme features contests with fiddlers and rodeo events, beard growing and bands. Miss America 1965 winner Vonda Kay Van Dyke headlines. Events begin with a Friday night banquet and culminate in Saturday’s Main Street parade at 11 a.m. with dozens of high school bands and visitors from Texas Oklahoma and Kansas.
