Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines From American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society recommends yearly mammograms starting at age 40 and continuing while in good health. Clinical breast exams should accompany periodic health exams, with frequency varying by age. Women should know their normal breast felt changes and report them promptly. Breast self exams are optional for those in their 20s. Those at increased risk should discuss earlier screening and additional tests with their doctor. For information call 1 800 ACS 2345 or visit cancer org.
