Highlands Man's Rites Set Sunday
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday for James Wesley Skeen, 64, of 114 W Wallisville Highlands, who died at 7 p.m. Friday in a Baytown hospital. He was a longtime Highlands resident and retired from Humble Oil Baytown Refinery after 36 years. Survived by his widow, daughter Judy Skeen, sister Myrtle Carter, and brother Lather Queen. Graveside rites by Sampson's Lodge in White Cemetery, Earthman Highlands Funeral Home directing.

Two Decker Drive crashes hospitalize five and injure nine
Five people were admitted to Baytown area hospitals after a two vehicle crash on Decker Drive near Country Club Oaks. Passengers Thomas A. Jacobs and Mrs. Stap suffered facial injuries, with others including a 12 year old boy and a 49 year old man treated for facial lacerations or broken bones. A second crash at Baker Road and Decker Drive injured Mrs Martha Josephine Anders and her infant child, with Mrs Louise Whitten cited for failure to yield.
