Lee College Regents Approve Salary Increases and Parking Plan
Lee College Regents Thursday night granted salary increases for faculty and 12 administrative officials. Dr Richard Strahan said the raises are necessary to deter faculty raiding by neighboring colleges and to align with apportionment pending from the legislature. The faculty raise depends on a future increase in state funds. Additionally, 84 space expansion to Lot No 3 was approved bringing capacity to about 170 spaces. Parking lots are targeted for completion by September 1 to support fall registration.

Two large Marine helicopters collided at the New River Marine Air Facility near Jacksonville North Carolina during training. At least 20 died and a dozen were injured.
