Final Spur 330 flyover closure blocks Highway 146 traffic

Northbound Highway 146 traffic will be detoured this weekend due to three closed lanes for the Spur 330 to Highway 146 interchange flyover project. The 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday closure impacts Texas Avenue Decker Drive to Garth Road, with police directing traffic and a $6.6 million contract awarded to Infrastructure Inc. for the roughly half mile bridge.

Baytown Police Boost Patrols Seek Citizen Help

Baytown police chief outlines efforts to curb crime with 155 patrol officers and detectives. Crime through May 2013 totals 1,665 offenses versus 1,520 in 2012, with burglaries up to 410 and robberies at 55. Nurture Nature Series heats up July at Bayway Center

The monthly Nurture Nature program returns July 6, every first Saturday from 10 am to noon. The nature center at 6213 Bayway Drive offers free admission with general entry, while adults and youths over 13 pay 3 dollars.
