Stocking a basic saltwater tacklebox by Alan Charles
Alan Charles outlines a compact set of core gear for bay and offshore fishing. He recommends Mustad treble hooks, O shaughnessy hooks, lead and pyramid sinkers, barrel swivels, quality ball bearing offshore lures, monofilament leaders for bays and stainless wire for offshore, plus popping corks, leadhead jigs, spoons, a Rebel or Mirroflake plug, extra line, knife, hooks, spray oil, reel parts, a net and gaff. He notes anglers vary by preference and situation, but offers a practical, general stocking plan.
BRAT Focuses on California Olympics Festival
BRAT headed for California Olympics Festival as USWPA expands for ages 15-17 with better facilities and more games. Indoor events occurred in March with Cal Poly and Questa College hosting July championships. Each BRAT swimmer must raise 600 dollars. Langdgrap backs the plan as ideal for top juniors. Highlands adds Friday night racing featuring Texas Outlaw Midgets and stock cars with spectator racing.
