Military bands vs arts funding spark budget debate
Archibald Willard’s The Spirit of 76 inspires a look at military band totals now totaling 50 Army bands 17 Navy bands 14 Marine bands and 20 Air Force bands. The Reagan plan would raise next year’s military band budget to 154 million while proposing a 12 percent cut to the National Endowment for the Arts.
