Funeral services for Robert F. Lemmon Sr. recalled Baytown pioneer days after he moved here in 1916 from Goose Creek. He worked in oil fields, later farmed, and lived in a Brenham nursing home. Survived by his widow and six children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services at Paul A. Lee Chapel with Dr. Jester White and Rev. William J. Commer officiating.

Baytonian Awarded DSC For Viet Action
Staff Sgt. Fred Rios, son of Mr and Mrs Ambrosia Rios, 6518 Wade Road, earned the Distinguished Service Cross for heroism in Vietnam on May 13 1968 near Bong Son bridge north of Qui Nhon. He shielded comrades from a grenade, then rallied his men and repelled a Viet Cong attack, with no casualties in his unit. Rios has multiple decorations and plans to attend Lae College after returning from Fort Ord.
