From Ridicule to Reading: Monica Boyd Learns to Read
Monica Boyd of Barrett Station spent years labeled special ed and unable to read. At 18 she graduated illiterate, faced humiliation in class, worked in security while others doubted her, then found help at Lee College and Sterling Library, learning to read with support from teachers and family before a life changing moment with her son.
