Anahuac weighs tower rehab over rebuild plan
Alderman Guy Robert Jackson said the report exceeded expectations and the five year timeline gives Anahuac time to plan financially. Rehab would cost about 162000 and extend life up to 20 years, while a new 150000 gallon tank would cost 150000 to 175000 with 80 year life. Council took no action and also approved sewer line extension to Channelview Subdivision, hired an auditor for 2001-02, and set a workshop on hiring a code enforcement officer and city administrator for June 24 at Anahuac City Hall. Firework signs were urged to remind residents that fireworks are illegal inside city limits before July 4.
